    All the 19th century elements of the Rideau Canal infrastructure are here: a flight of two stonemasonry lock chambers, the upper well above ground level, hand-operated wooden lock doors and valves, a visible stonemasonry dam above and a cut into bedrock below -- along with a late 19th century stone pier railway bridge above, a modern rotary swingbridge at the entrance to the basin, and whitewater rapids below the weir spillway. Views of the operating locks from every angle.
